April moving brought May grooving….

So, with April came the coordinated effort to begin the moving process into my 41’ Jayco camper and boy, what an effort it has been! Every time I move (and it has been 29 times to date), I make the declaration that I have no idea how I manage to collect so much stuff – yet as evidenced by the several U-Haul trucks that it took to move it, I manage somehow to hoard way more than I really need. And this move was no different.
What is different, is that this time, I took the time to go through things, discard the unused and unnecessary and label each and every box for future quick and swift unpacking. You see, the camper cannot possibly hold all the “stuff” I want to keep and I’ve made the wise decision to box and store most of my mementos, collections and keepsakes until the right house is either located or built (that will be a whole other story).
And for now, my little pup Nixa and myself are enjoying the time we have in our “tiny” living space otherwise known as “Jake”. Jake makes my life so much easier – I can clean from one end to the other in the span of about 90 minutes. The upkeep is minimal, and allows for more time to enjoy and relax, rather than cleaning and organizing.
The things I miss the most are the mementos I have from my grandmothers and aunt – my home-made quilts that were hanging on display in my former home. But, I do have pictures to leaf through until I can get them on a wall again.
With the move almost totally complete, I’m turning my attention now to the next project on the list: SNAP! The world’s first fully customizable and COLD snackboard! I hope to spend the next few years building a business with SNAP and leaving my mark on the home goods industry by providing a board that makes entertaining fun, unique, and easy all at the same time. The journey with SNAP is beginning with an opportunity to participate in a competition in Tupelo, MS called “The Pitch”. Think of a mini-Shark Tank competition, state level, rather than national.
I’m a little nervous, but excitement is overriding the nervous right now, and although I won’t have a blog to share with you until August or September (SNAP is consuming all my free time) I wanted to share a few of the pics I have of the SNAP board and let you know that when my blog contributions pickup in late summer, I should have so much news to share, it will take several months to impart all that has happened.
And so, until next time we meet to share in my adventure’s dear reader, stay safe, happy and well read!
